Ingredients (Serves 2–3)

  • 400g organic diced beef

  • Wooden skewers (soaked in water for 15 minutes to prevent burning)

  • 1 red pepper, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 1 yellow pepper, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 1 red onion, cut into wedges

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp ground cumin

  • ½ tsp dried oregano

  • Sea salt & black pepper to taste

  • Optional: a squeeze of lemon juice or sprinkle of fresh parsley for serving

Method

  1. Prepare the ingredients:
Pat the beef pieces dry. Cut the peppers and onion into skewer-friendly chunks.

  2. Assemble the skewers:
Alternate beef, peppers, and onion pieces on the wooden skewers, creating a colourful and balanced mix.

  3. Season the skewers:
In a small bowl, mix olive oil with smoked paprika, garlic powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper. Brush the mixture generously over the assembled skewers.

  4. Cook the skewers:

    • Oven method: Preheat the oven to 200°C fan (220°C conventional). Place skewers on a lined baking tray and roast for 15–20 minutes, turning halfway, until the beef is cooked to your preferred doneness.

    • Grill/BBQ method: Preheat your grill or BBQ to medium heat. Cook the skewers for 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef is caramelised and vegetables are tender.

  5. Serve:
Remove from heat, optionally drizzle with a little lemon juice, and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve alongside rice, flatbreads, or roasted potatoes for a hearty Bonfire Night feast.

Tips for Extra Flavour

  • Marinate for more depth: Marinate the beef in the seasoning mix for 30 minutes before skewering for extra flavour.

  • Add spice: Include a pinch of chilli flakes for a gentle kick.

  • Family fun: Let the kids help thread the beef and vegetables — perfect for a DIY meal experience.

These organic beef skewers are colourful, full of flavour, and perfect for Bonfire Night fun — easy to make and guaranteed to be a hit with everyone at the table!
