Burns Night Classic: Organic Haggis, Neeps & Tatties

Burns Night Classic: Organic Haggis, Neeps & Tatties

A timeless Scottish favourite — hearty, comforting and perfect for celebrating Burns Night or enjoying as a winter warmer. Our Organic Gluten-Free Haggis (350g) delivers big flavour using only the highest-welfare organic ingredients.

Serves: 2–3

Time: 45 minutes

Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients

  • 1 × Organic Gluten-Free Haggis (350g)

  • 500g potatoes, peeled & chopped

  • 400g swede (neeps), peeled & chopped

  • 50g organic butter (or olive oil for dairy-free)

  • Splash of organic milk or oat milk

  • Sea salt & black pepper

  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

  • Optional: 5cl whisky for drizzling or sauce (Nc’Nean works beautifully)

Method

  1. Cook the Haggis
Remove all outer packaging. Place the haggis in a pan of gently simmering water and heat for 35–40 minutes until piping hot. (Do not allow to boil vigorously.)

  2. Prepare the Tatties
Meanwhile, boil the potatoes in salted water for 15–20 minutes until tender. Drain, mash with butter and a splash of milk, and season with salt and pepper.

  3. Prepare the Neeps
Boil or steam the swede for 20–25 minutes until soft. Mash with butter and season to taste.

  4. Serve
Slice open the haggis and spoon onto warm plates alongside the neeps and tatties.

  5. Optional Whisky Drizzle
Warm a small splash of whisky in a pan for 30 seconds, then drizzle lightly over the haggis before serving — or pair it in a glass to toast the poet himself.

To Serve

Enjoy traditionally with a dram of whisky, a spoon of mustard, or a touch of gravy. A great way to introduce Scottish flavour to the dinner table, gluten-free and organic.
