2.  Delivery

Our products will be sent in boxes directly to you, insulated with thermal insulation packaging using 100% wool.

A national courier is used for all deliveries. We deliver all around mainland Britain, excluding the Highlands and Islands. We do not ship internationally.

We will endeavour to deliver to you on your chosen delivery date and time slot if a pre-12 service is selected, however we cannot guarantee this and orders can sometimes be delayed due to factors outside of control (including but not limited to adverse weather conditions, strike actions, vehicle breakdowns, traffic congestion). In the event of a delay we will inform you as soon as possible. Orders will not be delivered any later than a day after the original delivery time. If it is later than this we will arrange a replacement order or refund. We shall not be liable for the impact of delayed orders so please do plan ahead and allow an extra 24 hours if you need your order for a certain date.

If you are not home to receive your box, our couriers will leave the goods in your designated place that has been stated by you. Subscription Terms and Conditions
These Subscription Terms apply to subscription orders placed with The Organic Butchery, a trading name of DTC Foods Ltd (“we”, “us” or “our”). They should be read alongside our general Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and Delivery and Returns Policy.
1. How subscriptions work
By starting a subscription, you agree to receive and pay for recurring deliveries at the frequency selected during checkout.
Your subscription will continue until it is paused or cancelled by you, or ended by us in accordance with these Terms. There is no minimum commitment unless one is clearly stated before you subscribe.
You authorise us to charge your chosen payment method automatically for each recurring order, including the applicable product price, delivery charge and any other charges clearly disclosed to you.
2. Subscription prices
The price displayed when you first subscribe is the price applicable at that time. Subscription prices are not fixed and may change during your subscription.
Prices may change due to factors including livestock and ingredient costs, seasonal availability, supplier prices, production costs, packaging, delivery charges, taxes or other costs outside our reasonable control.
Unless we tell you otherwise, an updated price will automatically apply to your next subscription order and subsequent orders.
We will take reasonable steps to notify you of all price changes before the affected payment is taken. Where the price of an individual subscription product increases by more than 10% at one time, we will provide advance notice using the contact details registered to your account.
Any notification will explain the new price and when it will take effect. You may change, pause or cancel your subscription before the stated payment cut-off if you do not wish to accept the new price.
You are responsible for keeping your email address and other contact information up to date. We will not be responsible if a notification does not reach you because your details are incorrect, your inbox is full or the message is filtered as spam.
Price changes will not be applied retrospectively to an order for which payment has already been taken.
3. Subscription discount and trial period
The subscription discount available when you first subscribe is part of a trial and is not guaranteed for the lifetime of your subscription.
We may increase, reduce, replace or withdraw the subscription discount following or during the trial period. This may change the amount you pay for future subscription orders.
We will take reasonable steps to notify you in advance of any change to the subscription discount. Where the change would increase the price you pay by more than 10%, we will provide advance notice using the contact details registered to your account.
The updated discount and price will apply automatically from the date stated in our notification. If you do not wish to continue at the updated price, you may pause or cancel your subscription before your next order is processed, without a cancellation fee.
Any introductory offer, promotional price, voucher or free product may be limited to a specified period or number of deliveries. Once an offer ends, your subscription will continue at the then-current applicable subscription price.
Promotional offers cannot be applied retrospectively and may not be used with another offer unless expressly stated.
4. Payment
Payment will normally be taken on or around the date shown in your account or subscription notification.
You must ensure that your payment and billing details are correct and that sufficient funds are available.
If payment fails, we may:
  • attempt to take payment again;
  • contact you to request an alternative payment method;
  • delay or cancel the affected delivery; or
  • pause or cancel your subscription after repeated failed payments.
We will not dispatch an order until payment has been successfully authorised.
5. Managing your subscription
You may change the delivery frequency, skip a delivery, pause your subscription or cancel it through your online account or by contacting us.
Changes must be made before the order cut-off shown in your account or order notification. If an order has already been processed, prepared or dispatched, we may be unable to amend or cancel it.
Cancelling a subscription prevents future recurring orders. It does not automatically cancel an order that has already been processed or paid for.
We will not charge a cancellation fee.
6. Product availability and substitutions
Our products are seasonal and depend on livestock, farming, butchery and supplier availability. We cannot guarantee that every product or cut will always be available.
If a subscription product is unavailable, we may:
  • provide a reasonable substitute of similar type, quality and value;
  • omit the unavailable product and provide an appropriate refund or account credit;
  • delay the delivery with your agreement; or
  • cancel and refund the affected order.
Where reasonably possible, we will tell you about any significant substitution before dispatch.
We will take account of allergies or dietary requirements that you have notified to us. However, customers must always check the product label and allergen information before consumption.
We may make minor changes to product specifications, cuts, packaging, weights or presentation where reasonably necessary, provided these do not materially reduce the overall quality or value of the order.
7. Product weights
Some meat products are sold by approximate weight because they are individually prepared and natural variation is unavoidable.
Where the final weight differs from the advertised or estimated weight, any price adjustment or permitted weight tolerance will be handled in accordance with the information displayed on the relevant product page.
8. Delivery
Subscriptions are subject to our usual delivery areas, charges, minimum order values and delivery terms.
Delivery dates and times are estimates unless we expressly agree otherwise. Occasionally, circumstances outside our reasonable control may delay delivery. We will contact you where possible and take reasonable steps to minimise the delay.
You are responsible for ensuring that the delivery address, access information and safe-place instructions are accurate.
Because our products are perishable, you should unpack and refrigerate or freeze them promptly following delivery and follow any storage instructions provided.
If no one is available to receive the order, we may leave it in the designated safe place or follow the delivery instructions associated with your order. Once delivered in accordance with those instructions, you are responsible for storing the products appropriately.
9. Cancellations, returns and refunds
Most of our meat and food products are perishable and liable to deteriorate rapidly. The usual statutory right to change your mind and return an online purchase may therefore not apply to these products.
This does not affect your legal rights where goods are faulty, damaged, unsafe, not as described or otherwise fail to meet the standards required by law.
If there is a problem with an order, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible and provide your order details and, where appropriate, photographs.
We may ask you to retain the affected product and packaging while we investigate. Depending on the circumstances, we may offer a replacement, refund or account credit.
Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights.
10. Changes to the subscription service
We may make reasonable changes to the subscription service or these Terms, including changes required to reflect:
  • changes in law or regulation;
  • changes to our products, suppliers or delivery arrangements;
  • improvements to our systems or services;
  • security or fraud-prevention requirements; or
  • changes to our reasonable operating costs.
We will provide reasonable notice of any change that materially disadvantages you. If you do not agree to a material change, you may cancel your subscription before it takes effect.
11. Our right to pause or cancel a subscription
We may pause, refuse or cancel a subscription where:
  • payment cannot be collected;
  • products cannot be supplied;
  • delivery to your address is no longer available;
  • we reasonably suspect fraud, misuse or abuse of an offer;
  • you breach these Terms or our general Terms and Conditions; or
  • continuing the subscription becomes unlawful or impracticable.
Where appropriate, we will provide reasonable notice. If we cancel an order after taking payment and do not supply it, we will refund the relevant amount.
12. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable, arises from incorrect information or instructions supplied by you, or results from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights concerning faulty or misdescribed goods.
Our products are supplied for domestic and private use unless otherwise agreed. We are not responsible for business losses arising from a consumer subscription.
13. Contacting you
We may contact you by email, SMS, telephone or through your online account using the details you provide.
Subscription notices, including notifications about pricing, discounts or changes to the service, may be sent electronically.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you will also retain any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings available to you under the laws applicable where you live.
