The cut

An eye-catching and delicious centrepiece. Dry-aged next to a Himalayan salt wall to maximise flavour and tenderness, this organic and grass-fed beef rib joint is trimmed to perfection by our traditionally trained farm butchers.

Season generously with sea salt and flash roast medium rare or take it slow for melt-in-the-mouth succulence.

A show-stopping joint to elevate your next Sunday roast.

Our Farms & Suppliers

We source our organic beef from our exclusive network of local Devon organic farms. The cows spend their days grazing freely on a wide variety of native grasses, wildflowers and herbs, roaming the fields and resting under the trees. In the winter, they are given homegrown, organic silage and hay to munch throughout the day. We support traditional British cattle breeds that benefit from natural, slow-growing lives and produce beautifully marbled beef. Our beef is then hung for at least 21 days to mature the flavour for tender, flavourful meat. This creates an exceptional flavour and soft texture that is second to none. From our own cured pastrami to slow-roasting joints, we are immensely proud of our organic, pasture-fed beef.

FAQs

Our Meat

Is your meat organic and certified?

At The Organic Butchery we are proud of our Soil Association organic certification. Our meat is certified organic and fully traceable, from British farms chosen for their high standards of animal welfare, and every cut is prepared by our skilled butchers.

Is your meat Halal?

No. None of our meat is Halal. All animals are stunned before slaughter, and for beef, lamb and pork we use irreversible stunning methods. We believe you should have complete clarity about how your meat has been raised and slaughtered.

What do the animals eat?

Our organic beef and lamb are 100% grass-fed. Pigs and poultry are fed certified organic diets suited to their needs.

Delivery

Where do you deliver?

We deliver across mainland UK. Enter your postcode at checkout to see available delivery days for your area.

How much is delivery, and when is it free?

Delivery is calculated at checkout based on your address. It's free on orders over £125. There's a minimum order of £50.

When is my order cut and dispatched?

Your order is cut fresh to order and packed the morning it ships, so it arrives in peak condition for your chosen delivery day.

Can I choose my delivery day?

Yes — pick any available delivery day at checkout that suits you. If you have a subscription, you can change the delivery day for any order from your account.

What if I'm not home when it arrives?

The insulation and ice packs keep everything chilled for up to 48 hours, so your order will stay fresh in a safe, shaded spot until you're back.

Packaging & Storage

How is my order kept fresh in transit?

Everything travels in an insulated box lined with 100% sheep's wool, with food-safe ice packs that keep your order chilled below 5°C for up to 48 hours.

Is the packaging recyclable?

Yes. The outer box and liner go in your kerbside recycling, and the wool insulation is natural and compostable. Ice packs can be refrozen and reused, or emptied and recycled.

How should I store everything when it arrives?

Unpack as soon as you can and refrigerate at 0–5°C. Anything you won't use before its use-by date freezes beautifully — defrost thoroughly in the fridge before cooking, and don't refreeze once thawed.

Ordering

Is there a minimum order?

Yes, the minimum order is £50. Free delivery kicks in over £125.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Get in touch as soon as possible and we'll do everything we can before your order is cut and dispatched.

What if something isn't right?

Tell us within 48 hours of delivery and we'll refund or replace it — no quibbles.

What does "previously frozen" mean?

Some products — mostly wild fish and game — have been frozen to lock in freshness, and are labelled "previously frozen". They arrive chilled and defrosted, ready for your fridge. Once defrosted, don't refreeze; enjoy within the shelf life shown.

Subscriptions

Do I have to subscribe?

Not at all. Every box and every cut is available as a one-off order. A subscription simply unlocks free delivery and lets you set a delivery schedule.

Can I skip, pause or cancel a subscription?

Anytime, from your account — skip a delivery, change the frequency, or cancel entirely. No calls, no notice period.
